We moved into our new apartment yesterday.

It is super cute and only getting cuter! All of our appliances are brand new! I literally took the stickers off the shelves in the fridge. We have a brand new: Dishwasher, Stove, Fridge, Microwave and our washer and dryer are soooo new that they aren't here yet! They've been ordered and there is some issue with the delivery.

We also were blessed with some extra money to buy a sleeper couch. We found such a good deal that we bought this couch:

We would have loved for it to be delivered by tomorrow (Thursday) as we have friends coming to help us unpack still and they're staying the night, and since we are out on Friday with New Student Orientation, it's being delivered on Saturday. It's ok really though, because that gives us time to bring all our big furniture in without having to trip over a big couch! The couch comes with 2 little pillow's that have red in them, so I'll have to re-cover them!

Yesterday, after touring our apartment, we unpacked our cars and created what we would call home for the next day or so.... blew up the air mattress, brought in the lawn chairs and got out our 2 bowls and 2 plates. We ventured out on the town with a hand drawn map (by our apartment leasing office dude) and our GPS to get us home and found our way to a Super Target. I've never even heard of a Super Target (full grocery store+Target), but they are everywhere out here.... we bought a few groceries as everything perishable was packed in the coolers in the ReloCube's that ABF was delivering today. We stopped in at one furniture store, and when they didn't have what we needed they told us about American Furniture Warehouse, which I have never found online when searching for a furniture store in CO, but is ultimately like an Art Van and is where we bought our couch today!

Our first night we slept on the Twin air mattress in the living room. We fell asleep watching Toy Story 3 on the free trial of Netflix! It was a "close" night and I was cold because heat rises and we were on the floor by the patio doors. Since we're still not use to the 2 hour time difference I was wide awake at 5:45am. Yuk! I was never able to fall back asleep. So we made bowls of cereal and finished watching Toy Story.

After waiting for ABF to call to tell us they were ready to deliver our Cubes, we showered and got ready for the day. We signed for our Cubes, made sure they were ours and then took off to go couch shopping! After being shown all the options, we spent probably an hour or so going back and forth between our 2 favourite couches.

We paid the nice lady, and left stopping at Big Lots, looked and their couches, agreed we'd made the best choice.... looked at desks and storage shelves, not finding what we wanted and then took off again, this time heading to Nick's new campus. We just drove around as we were getting very hungry for lunch! The campus is really close and easy to get to!  As we drove away from the campus you can't turn left (which is the direction we live) so we went right and found a mini mall called Aspen Grove. It has all my mom's favourite stores from Briarwood Mall and more! Plus a bunch of cools ones too like Aeropostal, American Eagle, Apple store, Body Shop, Pottery Barn, Panera, Pier 1, Victoria's Secret and so many more. We've found almost all the favourite restaurants, all the important stores except Wal-mart/Sam's Club.We've actually ended up  in Lakewood, and Englewood, both cities that surround Littleton. They all kind of blend together. Everything is close, and not so scary anymore. We keep finding roads that we call the new "Carpenter Rd"... we also live right next to a car wash that has a new owner, who is doing free car washes on Saturday's until the end of the month... so despite how dirty our car's are - we are waiting!   

After we ate our leftover dinner from last night for lunch today, we started unpacking the cubes. Nick would carry stuff in, to our 2nd door, and then I would bring it in and attempt to put it away or at least in the right room.

Our apartment set up is cool... I'll explain it to you.

Our front door is 40-42 steps from where we park. We actually have an apartment kindof around the back of the maintenance garages so there is always activity on our walk to our apartment. They guys are really nice and have way to much fun doing donuts in the golf carts that they use to get around in. Ooh speaking of the guys, while we were inspecting our apartment I keep stepping in a wet spot on the carpet, that we initially thought was melted snow, however Nick realized that we had quite a large leak under our kitchen sink. After letting the office know, the guys were in our apartment to fix it in less than 5 minutes.

Ok so you walk up the door of our apartment. We are on the main floor and there is 1 step up to that door. Then you use 1 key to get into that door. There is quite a large room that serves as an entry way to 2 apartments. We bought a new cute door mat that is green and brown and says "hello." in the bottom corner. The door is red which I don't love but I don't think we can change that.... When you unlock that red door, you'll enter into our living room on the right and through a small opening in the wall you can see our awesome kitchen. Through our kitchen is what will soon be our laundry room.  The living room has a patio off of it that is enclosed so our grill and bikes are safe from intruders. Right off the patio there is a little storage room that we keep calling "the garage." There is also the cutest wood fireplace in the corner.

The bedroom and bathroom have a mini hallway that is on an angle off the living/dining room. The dining room is cute with a nice and semi modern fan/light, which to be honest I haven't even tried out yet! The bedroom has sliding closet doors which I have plans to paint really cute! I'm soo excited to see the final product. The bathroom is smaller than our old one but has a sliding mirror medicine cabinet above the sink/below the main mirror.

After unpacking a few things, leaving lots to do tomorrow for our friends, we locked up the cubes and took a walk around the neighboughhood! We were wearing just long sleeved shirts - the weather is wonderful here!!

Well it's time for bed, I just needed to get this out before I forget. Nick is already beside me in our bed that is all set up, missing a few bedding essentials but still sleepable. Tomorrow Joe (one of our groomsman) and Rochelle are coming tomorrow to help us unpack. We might try out the indoor hot tub tomorrow night!!!
