Dear Winter Olympics,
We have spent a lot of time together, 4 February's of watching you over the last 23 years of my life (not counting the year I was 3 because I don't remember much of that one) but this year being the first I remember in Canada and you did not let me down. I was glued to watching your opening show- I couldn't even eat! Obsession? - I think so!

Canada - you are my home and native land, always will be, no matter where I live, who I socialize with and where I spend my money. You truely are patriotic, I love seeing your red and white every where! One of the best looking, and unique flags I have ever seen! My heart was glowing as I watched you rise to the occasion of winning your first gold on home land! You have shown up strong! From far and wide you have arrived in Vancouver to support your athletes! The chance to show off your beautiful landscape, the gloriousness of your lands! Your opening show displayed the wonder and majesticness of your mountains, your oceans and your spirit! Oh Canada, I just love thee!
I have loved watching these games with my husband, despite working all day saturday, we still felt like we go to see a lot of each other! Friday night as I watched the opening ceremony all alone (as my Nick had gone to SAU) I pretty much sobbed, tears dripping off my face as I watched the Canada displayed for all the world to see. Why did I cry.... its hard to explain. When you love something so much, and you miss it so much, the emotions just run high. Seeing the skiiers form a red maple leaf was my favourite part, before the opening show even started. Hearing the National Anthem sung, brought my tears to an outpouring of ridiculous tears! I loved the poem done about Canada's characteristics! He showed up in time to see the end to laugh because, sadly, there was a mal-function of the lighting of the Olympic cauldron - but everything else was perfect.
I loved seeing Ann Murray, the Great One: Wayne Gretzky, and many other famous Canadians, my pride is being worn on my sleeve that is for sure! Also Sadly the the death of the Luge guy broke the hearts of all watching, but he was honoured properly! I loved them playing God Save our Queen and Oh Canada as opening songs as the Opening solute. I love the Mounties!
I love Canada! Oh man, I'm watching the opening again and the flag and the music still bring me to tears!! I texted Nicks mom throughout the whole show, both of us gasping in awe of its awesomeness!
I loved the video of the new song - We Are the World! Check it out!

Thank You,

This Olympic weekend is also Valentines Day weekend... and after a long week of not seeing my Nick, I enjoyed the time we did spend together. We didn't have any specific plans, however we did share a heart-shaped box of chocolates, he planned to make me dinner on Sunday, we ran out of time so I helped him make what he planned to make and it turned out delicious! We also did Yoga together which was a blast!
(side note:) Randomly the other morning I woke up early after accidentally falling asleep for the night so the TV was still on.... and on the TV was a program called Inhale... so I hit record so every morning it records and Nick and I are going to do yoga as often together as we can! We're pretty excited about it! We even have yoga mats, and my favourite sweatpants which are actually yoga pants will be used for their original purpose! I'm actually very sore from it today!!
Yoga is something that we can to together, besides the dishes and watching TV. We both we sweating and both pretty bad at it but I just loved working out beside him! We also went to a chinese buffet with my brother! The buffet was way more expensive then necessary but I loved sharing Valentines day with 2 of my 3 favourite men!!! He also left us a couple pieces of the dessert he made for his friends at school and it is fantastic!
