In Revelation 4:3, 6 it says:
"The one sitting on the throne was as brilliant as gemstones - jasper and carnelian. And the glow of an emerald circles his throne like a rainbow.... In front of the throne was a shiny sea of glass sparkling like crystal."
As I was thinking about this, I thought about the rings that a lot of us girls wear on our fingers... why do we need gemstones in them? Why isn't a band of gold enough? Just gold would still symbolize the neverendingness of love. Its good enough for boys. However girls want diamonds (or Peridot's in my case). But we were designed for beauty, we are beauty, we love beauty. The scripture above describes God as gemstones.... so in essence the gemstones we find in our rings represent God and all his glory.
Page 36 talks about how the church has taken physical beauty from women and emphasized inner beauty - however that is not what God designed us to be! John states that you rarely see a painting of a naked man - laying draped in material - like you would a woman! Men are designed to be "Strength in Action". Women are made in the image of God - we represent His feminine side, His comfort, His Beauty, His nurturing spirit, His relational side. Women/Beauty is the masters final touch (pg. 25).
So friends: Be Sexy and next time you look at a diamond ring - remember the beauty found in the stone: His creation of beauty, it's a reflection of His own beauty!! Wherever you see beauty - even if its a leaf on the ground, a new flower sprouting up in spring or a pair of shoes you just can't live without - the beauty is there to remind you of GOD!!!
