My parent's story is one of my favourites to tell!!

30 years ago today (October 16th, 1982) David Austin & Melaney Foster got married in my grandparents backyard. However their story starts 4 years before that.

this is definitely my mom's wedding picture, but I'm not sure who the groom is!

Therefore I deduce that this went down in 1978. My mom was 18 and my dad was 28 (roughly, depending on which month this all went down). My dad asked my mom to go to London with him to pick up something. He was just a guy from her church who wanted company on an hour ride and she obliged. He was thinking it was a date, and asked her to dinner after his errand was complete. She freaked out and invited him back to her parents house where her mom made sandwiches while she followed her mom around the kitchen like a lost puppy.

4 years went by and they went back to being acquaintances at church, the 10 years separating them by an entire age group! Think about it, when my mom was in Kindergarten my dad was in High school!!! hahaha!

Anyways  30 years ago this past July, my mom called my dad up and asked him out. 30 years ago this past August they got engaged and 30 years ago today they got married!

Their wedding was to be a small, short ceremony in the backyard of my grandparents home on Spurgeon drive across the street from where my Aunt Steph now lives, they requested that there not be a Gospel Message at the wedding or a huge sermon because all in attendance were Christians, however the Minister planned a longer messages. A few moments before the ceremony when the snow started falling, he asked if it would be ok if he shortened the message. My parents agreed that that would be just fine!!

I was born approximately 3.5-4 years after they were married and my brother 363 days after me. They are still happily married and still like each other too!
