What to do near our new home: The place where almost everything is within a 10 minute drive (disclaimer: I map-quested this all!)

The Rec Center (7 mins):
Behind the Rec Center building, one finds Miller Field, which is readily available for soccer, football or ultimate Frisbee, as well as four tennis courts, two sand volleyball courts, there are four softball fields, a five hole Disc Golf course, and the Rotary pavilion, which may be rented. A skating pond is available in the winter.

Curtiss Park features two tennis courts, one baseball field, playground equipment, picnic areas, a rentable pavilion, wooded trails included on the National Trail Registry, walking paths, Saline River public access for river-related activities, dedicated nature interpretive areas, and an observation deck over the river. One can walk along the trails and paths, fish in the river, play catch or toss a Frisbee with the kids, have a picnic or other gathering at the pavilion, go cross-country skiing in the winter, or make use of the swings and other playground equipment.

Go Swimming:
in a Lap Pool: 25 yards long and 6 lanes wide with a zero-depth entry ramp and a 1-meter diving board. Depth is 3’9” to 12’. Normal temperature range is 80-83 degrees. in a Leisure Pool: 50’ x 25’ recreational pool kept pleasantly warm with a zero-depth entry ramp. Depth is 1’9’’ to 4’. Normal temperature range is 83-86 degrees. at the Spa: 7-person hot tub with a normal temperature range of 100-104 degrees. Patrons must be at least 14 years old to use the spa.
